Delores M. (Perszyk) Wasche

May 19, 1935 ~ July 17, 2017 (age 82)

Delores M. (Perszyk) Wasche, 82 of Perham, MN passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be Friday, July 21 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 22 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 11:00 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Delores was born May 19, 1935 in Perham, the daughter of Mike and Violet (Peleske) Perszyk. She was baptized at St. Joseph’s Church.  On November 28, 1953 Delores was united in marriage to her lifelong partner Joseph Wasche. Together they resided in Perham where they raised their seven children Christine Wasche of Perham, Michael Wasche of Perham, Paul Wasche of Moose Lake (deceased August 12, 2014), Pam (Wasche) Wilson of Park Rapids, MN, Judy (Wasche) Deroiser of Fergus Falls, MN, Vickie (Wasche) Sazama of Dent, MN and Joseph Wasche III of Perham. 17 grandchildren and an abundance of great-grandchildren also survive Delores.

Delores was always involved in volunteer and charity work. She got her start at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church helping with church dinners. From there, she and her husband started the Perham Roller Rink and managed the rink for many years. Delores and Joe got involved in many troubled teenagers’ lives helping in any way they could. She organized adult prom parties for New Year’s Eve to raise money for the Roller Rink. Delores used these funds to purchase new roller skates for the kids to enjoy. She was also very involved in the Perham Food Shelf where she served the less fortunate people in her community. During this time, Delores and Joe got involved in the rental housing business purchasing and remodeling 31 houses and businesses. Delores and Joe purchased The Comet Theater in 1974. All of the Wasche children were involved in the operation of the business at one time or another. Delores had The Comet Theater booth at the EOT County Fair for 47 years. She met so many people and she will always be remembered for her bold personality and her colorful vocabulary. She was always straight forward and to the point. Delores always said never point fingers at anyone because you have three fingers pointing back at you. She loved her role as usher at St. Henry’s Church, wearing her well known hats and being surrounded by so many wonderful men who were ushers too.

Delores’ faith was so important to her. During her last days on this earth, she told everyone that came to see her to go to church and love God.

Delores was an icon in the Perham community as she leaves us all with a huge void in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mike and Violet; her son Paul Wasche; her son-in-law Fred Hedlund; her siblings Steve Perszyk and Jeanette Richter.

Delores passed away 7/17/17 and in the bible 7 means completion. Her work here is done.
