Mary Ann Agnes Paavola was born June 17, 1935 in Perham, MN to the late Lawrence and Katie (Mader) Boedigheimer. On September 3, 1955, Mary Ann was united in marriage with Waino Fred Paavola. Their marriage was blessed with seven children. Mary Ann was known to her family and friends for being a dedicated wife and mother. She lovingly raised her family, while working at Waino's side. She loved to read, sew, play cards and tend to her flower garden.
On Saturday, April 22, 2017, Mary Ann passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Perham Living where she was cared for with love and patience. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving Mary Ann are her five daughters Karen (Tom) Hammers of Perham, Sue (Jake) Bergacker of Perham, Charlene Holzer of Perham, Jan (Greg) Kramer of Wadena, MN and Kathy (Tom) Glass of Bismarck, ND; her son John (Angie) Paavola of Elk River, MN; her 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister Clara Olsen; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Einar (Elaine) Paavola; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mary Ann in death were her parents Lawrence and Katie; her husband Waino; her son Matthew Wayne; her son-in-law Ben Holzer; her sister Florence Dombeck; her brothers Carl and Leander Boedigheimer; and most recently a longtime friend Margie Fraki who entered Perham Living at the same time as Mary Ann.
Visitation will be Friday, April 28 from 4:00-8:00 with parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. Visitation will resume on Saturday, April 29 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church near Perham. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
