Anna Carrlson

Anna Mae Baumgartner Carrlson, age 74, of Perham , MN , formerly of New York Mils, MN, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 , at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home, Perham , MN , with all 15 of her children surrounding her.


Anna was born November 1, 1934 , to Joseph and Mary (Majerus) Baumgartner in Petersburg , NE. She attended St. John’s Catholic School , graduating in 1952. She then went on to attend Norfolk School of Business and after graduating, Anna worked for Andrews Van Lines of Norfolk. She was united in marriage to John A. Carrlson on December 3, 1955 , at St. John’s Catholic Church in Petersburg , NE. They moved to New York Mills, MN, in 1970, where they farmed until John’s death in 1979.



Anna loved to crochet, garden, and play bingo as well as following her MN Twins. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; they were the light of her life. Anna loved having visits from friends and socializing with her nursing home family, always with a smiling face.



Anna is survived by 15 children, John (Kathy) Carrlson, Bemidji, MN; Betty Sczygiel (Tom Golkowski), Frazee, MN; Teresa (Gib) Ternus, Perham, MN; Carol (Lester) Bain, Verndale, MN; Donald (Sandi) Carrlson, New York Mills, MN; Donna (Dave) Frandsen, Cohasset, MN; Ronald (Patty) Carrlson, Dent, MN; Robert (Beth) Carrlson, Richville, MN; Mary (Dennis) Fritz, Perham, MN; Connie (Byron) Zitzow, Vergas, MN; Patricia (Ron) Berns, Perham, MN; Ed Carrlson, Cohasset, MN; Rick (Lisa) Carrlson, Henning, MN; Becky Carrlson, Leal, ND; and Bobbi Carrlson, Grand Forks, ND; forty-seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Betty (John) Werner, Perham, MN; one brother, Joseph (Flor) Baumgartner, Columbia, SA; a sister-in-law, Helen Baumgartner, Petersburg, NE; and several nieces and nephews.



Preceding Anna in death are her parents; husband, John; brother, Peter Baumgartner; two grandsons, Jacob Carrlson and Derek Frandsen; and one son-in-law, Larry Sczygiel.
