Arlene was born August 4, 1927 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Al and Gladys Gray. She graduated from Perham High School and attended the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. She married Don Ceynowa in 1947 and had four children: Dan, Jean, Mary and Tim.
They moved to Minneapolis in 1958. Arlene sold Tupperware, working her way up to Manager and then Assistant Director of the distributorship. She retired along with Don in 1985 and returned to Perham, Minnesota. Arlene thoroughly enjoyed doing volunteer work and won the Volunteer of the Year in Perham. She was also active in the American Legion, VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers. She was also on the board when the Perham Memorial Home was being redesigned.
She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and being a part of the Red Hat Club. One of her favorite activities was welcoming people into the Perham Memorial Home, making them welcome and encouraging them to participate in activities. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survived by her four children, Daniel (Ronnie), Jean (Mike) Doran, Mary (Roger Eastman), Timothy (Carol), ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her sister, Betty Moriarity, sister in law, Pat Gray, brothers in law, Paul and Mark (Ellen) Ceynowa and many nieces and nephews.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her parents, Al and Gladys Gray, sister, Anne and brother, Don.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Perham Memorial Home Burlington House Fund or St. Henry's School.
