Berniece Ethel Elizabeth Teckemeyer, age 74, of Perham, MN, died at the Perham Memorial Home, Thursday, January 6, 2005. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 10, 2005, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Perham, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Terry Grzybowski officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, is Sunday, January 9, 2005, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Berniece was born October 13, 1930, the daughter of Henry and Leona (Carstens) Jorgenson, in Gorman Township, rural Perham. She was united in marriage to August Teckemeyer on May 6, 1951, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee, MN. August died January 26, 1998. To this marriage, three children were born; Doris, Ralph and Robert.
Berniece lived her entire life in Gorman Township where she enjoyed farming, gardening, flowers, embroidery, birds and traveling.
Preceding Berniece in death was her husband; her parents; an infant brother and two brothers-in-law, Norbert Schultz and Herbert Teckemeyer.
Surviving Berniece are her children, Doris (Dorvin) Ruther, of Perham, MN, Ralph Teckemeyer, of Perham, MN, and Robert (Anne) Teckemeyer, of Frazee, MN; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Schultz, of Frazee, MN and Lenora Teckemeyer, of New York Mills, MN; brothers, John (LaJean) Jorgenson, of Shakopee, MN, Vernon (Connie) Jorgenson, of Detroit Lakes, MN, Virgil (Mary) Jorgenson, of Wadena, MN, and Douglas (Lynae) Jorgenson, of Frazee, MN and one sister-in-law, Luella Teckemeyer, of Perham, MN.
