Betty Westlund

Betty G. Westlund, age 83, of Perham , MN , formerly of Brooklyn Center , MN , died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 , at MeritCare, Fargo , ND .


Betty was born October 10, 1925 , in Minneapolis , MN , the daughter of Alfred and Myrtle Vandevner. She was united in marriage to Melvin Marshall Westlund on January 13, 1945 . Betty enjoyed playing cards with friends, reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling, going to movies, and she especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.



Betty is survived by two daughters, Carol (Rick) Marasco, Brooklyn Park, MN; and Wendy (Dave) Schmitz, Perham, MN; two grandchildren, Jason (Jeni) Schmitz, Perham, MN; and Jami (Chris) Ahart, Perham, MN; two great grandchildren, Cody Ahart, 6 years; and Kadence Schmitz, 2 years; and her extended family and many friends.



Preceding Betty in death are her parents, Alfred and Myrtle Vandevner; husband, Melvin; son, Lenny; and brother, Jimmy.
