Bonnadell Umhoefer

Bonnadell "Bonnie" Umhoefer, age 90, of Clara City, MN, and formerly Perham, MN, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Bonnie was born June 1, 1920, in Toledo, IL, the daughter of Ivan and Clara (Marshall) Brewster. After high school Bonnie attended business school in Chicago, IL. When WWII began she entered the service with the Navy Waves, serving in Washington, DC, and being honorably discharged in November 1945. Bonnie returned to Chicago to work and met and married Theodore Umhoefer on December 27, 1947. Together they moved to Oklee, MN, where their two children were born. In 1953 they moved to Golden Valley, MN, and in 1963 they moved to Perham, MN, where they purchased The Pines Gift Shop. Bonnie and Ted operated the gift shop for ten years until Teda�(TM)s death and then Bonnie proceeded to run the shop for another seventeen years on her own. She spent winters in Arizona and summers on Little Pine Lake, MN, until 2001 when she moved into Briarwood Apartments. She moved to Clara City, MN, in 2009 and lived there until her death.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Pat (Tim) Asche, Clara City, MN; son, Ted (Susan) Umhoefer, Annandale, MN; six grandchildren, Megan (Cory) Larson, Kerry (Michael) Cook, Joseph Asche, Anne Umhoefer, Kevin (Holly) Umhoefer and Katie Umhoefer; seven great grandchildren, Mackensie, Katelyn and Lauren Cook; Alec, Jack and Maia Larson; and Henry Umhoefer; and a brother, Larry (Carol) Dobbs.

Preceding Bonnie in death are her parents; husband, Theodore; and a brother, Keith Bruster.
