Edna Laney

Edna Etta Laney, age 98, of Richville, MN, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.


Edna was born on June 16, 1910 , in rural Dent, MN, the daughter of Adam and Leona (Stotts) Bistrum. She attended a country school until the 8 ^th grade. After her marriage to Mahlon Laney on December 20, 1940 , she worked alongside him on the farm near Richville , MN , until 1986 when they moved to St. James Manor in Perham. Mahlon died in 1996 and Edna entered the nursing home in 2002 where she resided until her death. She loved to garden and crochet.



Edna is survived by one son, Walter (Mary) Laney and one daughter, Jeanette (Roger) Rudebeck; five grandchildren, Kenny (Kirsten) Laney, Cheryl (Mike) Fitzgerald, Lisa (Marc) Ness, Robert Rudebeck, and Patty (Tom) Taylor; seven great grandchildren, Kolton, Kade, Marshall, Connor, Abby, Morgan, and Shaylyn; one brother-in-law, Eugene Laney; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Preceding Edna in death are her parents; husband, Mahlon; and one brother, Leo Bistrum.
