Edward Weber

December 8, 1917 — April 25, 2004

Mr. Edward P. Weber, 86, of Briarwood in Perham, MN, passed away April 25, 2004, at MeritCare Medical Center in Fargo, ND. He had been hospitalized for the past several weeks following surgery. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Reverend David Rieder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites accorded by VFW Post 3289, of New York Mills, MN. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2004, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.



Ed was born December 8, 1917, in New England, ND. He was the fourth child of William and Elizabeth (Wold) Weber. During his teenage years, the family moved to the St. Peter, MN, area. Ed worked for the farmers in the area before joining the U.S. Army. He served during WWII, in both Alaska and Germany. After serving 5 A� years, he was honorable discharged. Ed worked for Mallon's Egg Plant in St. Peter and eventually started working with the Department of Agriculture as an inspector. With the Dept. of Agriculture, Ed moved around to several towns within MN. He retired from the Dept. of Agriculture in 1980 with over 30 years of service. Ed was united in marriage with Arlun Rhealume in El Paso, TX, in 1944. She preceded him in death in 1999 after more than 54 years of marriage. Ed greatly enjoyed his family and many friends. His favorite pastimes included playing cards, dominoes, gardening and fishing. He enjoyed many trips to Rainy Lake in Canada with his sons and grandsons.



Surviving Ed are four sons, Ed (Bobbi), of Grand Forks, ND, Garry (Marjean), of Rosemount, MN, Roy, of Perham, MN, and Ross (Shirley), of Ottertail, MN; one daughter, Gwen and special friend, Dean, of Audobon, MN; grandchildren, Tracy (Patrick) Cox, of Lynnwood, WA, Brandon Weber, of Coon Rapids, MN, Amy Weber, of Rosemount, Kelly Sweere, of Plymouth, MN, and Amy (Dave) Hein, of Langdon, ND; three great-grandchildren, Evan and Reece Cox and Riley; and two younger brothers, Anthony (Jo), of Yakima, WA and William (Jean), of Philadelphia, PA.
