Eleanor Cichy

Funeral services for Eleanor Clara "Kerlin" Cichy, age 83, of Dent, MN, will be Thursday, January 29, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dent, MN, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Jerry Nordick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dent, is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2004, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the funeral. Eleanor died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.
Eleanor was born September 14, 1920, the daughter of Paul and Gertrude Silbernagel, in Dent, MN. She married Albert Kerlin in Dent at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, April 11, 1939 and farmed in the Dent area. To this union two children were born, Sharon and Charles. Albert died March 10, 1973. After his death, Eleanor moved to Perham where she worked for Bucholz and White Drug and the New York Mills library. On September 30, 1989, Eleanor married Anton Cichy and, together, they made their home on Marion Lake, rural Dent, MN. Throughout her life, she enjoyed her family, traveling, crocheting, playing cards and a good laugh over a cup of coffee.
Surviving Eleanor is her husband, Anton, of Dent, MN; her children, Sharon (Harold) Triem, of Postville, IA and Charles (Debbie) Kerlin, of Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Liane) Buechler, of Plymouth, MN, Patrick Buechler, of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael Buechler, of Los Angeles, CA, Sheila (Mike) Odland, of Fergus Falls, MN, Terry (Tracey) Kerlin, of Fort Polk, Louisiana, Stacy Kerlin, of Fergus Falls, MN, Heidi (Spencer) Eslinger, of Oaks, ND and Heath Kerlin, of Cogswell, ND; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel, Mark and Amy Buechler, Katrina, Megan and Cody Odland, and Jacob and Clayton Kerlin; three step-children, Janet (Sheldon) Braith, Ervin (Joanne) Cichy and Tony Cichy, Jr.; eight step-grandchildren and two step-great-greatchildren; brother Charles (Arleen) Silbernagel, of Dent, MN, and sister, Delores Sazama, of Perham, MN.
Preceding Eleanor in death are her parents; her first husband; a granddaughter, Linda Marie Buechler; brothers, Arthur, Alfred, James and Stanley and sisters, Margaret Sazama, Louise Silbernagel, Marcella Peach and Evelyn Palubicki.
