Esther Anna Speck was born to Guido and Melvine (Raatz) Speck on May 18th, 1922. She grew up in the Perham area and remained in the area her whole life. Esther attended Corliss Country School until the 8th grade. After school she worked at home for her mother and father. She was united in marriage to Joseph L. Witzke on July 6th, 1938. Through that union they had two beautiful boys Clifford Witzke and Dale (Cheryl) Witzke whom she loved very much. She and her husband Joe moved to the family farm in 1939 to raise a family. They raised turkeys, mink, chickens, many various family pets, and their two wonderful boys. Esther spent her life loving and caring for people. After raising her own boys she made a habit of taking in others in need. She eventually took in two of her grandsons, Jason Witzke and Bradley Witzke. Esther will be remembered most for her faith in the Lord, unconditional love, and business savvy. Some of Esther's favorite past times included Whist, word finds, cross stitching, and Homemakers Association. She looked forward to each summer when her grandson Brian would visit from the Cities and when her grandson Jason would bring her new great granddaughter Brielle for a visit. With Esther's passing the world lost one of the truly beautiful souls. She always had a kind word and a quick wit. She leaves behind innumerable stories filled with love, joy, and admiration.
