Fern Anderson , age 85, of Perham , MN , died Sunday, December 28, 2008 , at the Perham Memorial Hospital .


Fern Augusta Anderson was born on June 16, 1923 , in Butler Township , Otter Tail County , MN , the daughter of William and Augusta (Gutekunst) Rader. As a young child she was brought to the Lord in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. Some years later on July 4, 1937, she professed her faith in her Savior in the Rite of Confirmation at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Corliss Twp. rural Perham, MN. On October 8, 1940, she was joined in marriage to Christ Ebeling. Their marriage was blessed with two children. After Christ died, she then was joined in marriage to Clifford Anderson on October 11, 1947. Their marriage was blessed with one child.



Everywhere that Fern went she served as a waitress; first in Fargo, ND, then in the Perham area when she moved back in 1968 living near Big Pine Lake for nearly 20 years before moving to the St. James Manor in Perham. On July 21, 2006, she entered the Perham Memorial Nursing Home where she remained a resident until her death.



Fern is survived by her three children, Joyce (Lee) Voight, Cotton, MN; Shirley (Wayne) Roemhildt, Elysian, MN; and son, David (Kathy) Anderson of Hastings, MN; one sister, Myrtle Peterson, New York Mills, MN; 1 sister-in-law, Erna Rader; 8 grandchildren, Justin, Katie, Derrick, Kellie, Carrie, Jason, Chris, and Angela; 5 great grandchildren, Dylan, Nicole, Todd, Megan, and Cole; as well as wider circle of family ands friends who mourn her death.



Preceding Fern in death are her parents; 2 husbands, Christ and Clifford; one brother, Lester; and one granddaughter, Tammy.
