Hugo Heinle

March 27, 1933 — October 7, 2009

Hugo Carl Heinle, age 76, of Perham , MN , died on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 , at the Perham Memorial Hospital with his family at his side.


Hugo was born March 27, 1933 , in Hebron , ND , the son of Charles and Lydia Heinle. He was raised on the family farm and schooled in Hebron . Hugo had to leave school and tend to the farm due to his father’s illness. On April 12, 1953 , Hugo was united in marriage to Violet Miller and they continued to farm for awhile until selling and pursuing other opportunities including a service station. They moved to Minnesota in 1962 to farm but driving truck would be Hugo’s main occupation which he did for 40 years with several companies. In 1977 he sold the farm and they moved to Detroit Lakes , MN , where he continued to drive truck until he retired to Perham.



He was known as “Happy Hugo” and loved singing, playing the accordion, horses and playing with his great grandchildren. He was very active in quartets and church singing. He enjoyed leading family and church activities.



Hugo is survived by his wife, Violet, Perham , MN ; three sons, Randy (Sheryl) Heinle, Ft. Mill, SC; Rick (Laura) Heinle, Perham, MN; and Brent (Kari) Heinle, Minneapolis, MN; seven grandchildren, Tonya, Tony, Rodrigo, Maria, Marisol, Austin, and Alyssa; and six great grandchildren.



Preceding Hugo in death are his parents, Charles and Lydia; a brother, Irwin; and an infant brother, Don.
