James Rehbein

June 26, 1925 — July 21, 2007

James B. Rehbein, age 82, of Perham, MN, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, at MeritCare, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 25, 2007, 2:00 pm, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dent, with Reverend Larry Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, and one hour prior to services at the church.



James Bernard Rehbein was born June 26, 1925, in Perham, MN, the son of Otto and Anna (Seedorf) Rehbein. He was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Dent, MN, and was a lifetime member. Jim graduated from Perham High School in 1943 and shortly after graduation, entered the armed services in December 1944. He received an honorable discharge in October 1946 and returned home to farm with his brother, Robert. His one desire was to purchase his grandparents farm next door, which he did. On October 25, 1958, he married Dorothy Rosentreter at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Vergas, MN. Jim continued to farm with his sons up until the time of his death. He loved the land and had great respect for it. He loved hunting and fishing, especially for bass, and took great joy in fishing with his special grandson, Wade. Jim enjoyed the simple things in life. He believed honesty and had great patience, determination, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved his church and served as Secretary for forty years and several years as a trustee. He also served on the School Board of Country School District 132 until it's consolidation with Perham and also a lifetime member of the Perham VFW.



Jim is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Perham, MN; sons, Arlin and Allen Rehbein, both of Perham, MN; daughter, Janelle (Dean) Salo, Perham, MN; three grandchildren, Wade, Kenna, and Bren, which were the joy of his life; sister-in-law, Ella Rehbein.



Preceding Jim in death are his parents; brother, Robert; sister, Louise; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several aunts and uncles.



Jim will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
