Joseph Minten, age 77, of Perham, MN, died Friday, February 29, 2008, at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 3, 2008 beginning at 11:00 am at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 2, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 8:00 pm. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery, Butler, MN.
Joseph was born on February 5, 1931, in Perham, MN to Peter and Gertrude Minten and grew up in Butler, MN. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 and later graduated from NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND with a degree in auto body repair. Joseph married Delores Steinbach on October 23, 1958 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham, MN. They farmed in Butler until 1993 when they retired and moved to Perham.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Delores, of Perham, MN; their six children, Rose (Shawn) Loken, New Richland, MN; Mary (Bob) Adkinson, Champlin, MN; John (Maria) Minten, Brainerd, MN; Tom (Pam) Minten, Battle Lake, MN; Mike (Jennifer) Minten, Perham, MN; Angela Minten, Edina, MN; sisters, Irene Moenkedick, Perham, MN; Mary Weis, Emily, MN; Lucille Altringer, Waverly, MN; and eleven grandchildren.
Preceding Joseph in death are his parents; and a brother Martin Minten.
