Lee was born
May 31, 1918

, the son of August and Gertrude (Barry) Rogert. He attended school in
Lincoln

NE
, and owned and operated a gas station there. Lee enlisted in the US Army and served in the South Pacific during WWII. After being discharged, he returned to
Lincoln
where he owned and operated Lee’s Idle Hour Bar. Lee moved to
Perham
,
MN
, in 1953, and purchased the Pine Lake Lodge on Little Pine Lake and also operated the Colonial Motel until 1968. He was united in marriage to Hazel Stanley on
February 7, 1951
, in
Council Bluffs
,
IA.
Hazel died in 1972. Lee later married Mary Cummins on
November 22, 1973
, in
Wadena
,
MN
. Mary died in 1995. He retired at age 50 and moved to his summer home on Rush Lake and was able to spend his winters in Texas and Florida. Lee loved music, photography and traveling. He was also a member of the Perham VFW, the Perham American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.
