Loretta Anne Ackert, 90, of Perham, MN, died Saturday May 7, 2011, at Perham Memorial Hospital.
Loretta and her twin sister Lorraine were born July 7, 1920, on the family farm in Star Lake Township, rural Dent, MN. She was the daughter of Emma and Henry Koelln. She grew up and attended school in Star Lake Township. Loretta treasured working side-by-side with her dad on the family farm. She married Albert Rohde on June 30, 1938 and had 3 children, Bernadine, Beverly and Myren (Mike).
Loretta was a very hard worker her entire life and especially loved her jobs that involved cooking and baking. She cooked for friends, neighbors and family up until the day she passed on including the Mother's Day meal she had waiting in the oven. Loretta was very talented with embroidery and sewing. She was a diehard Minnesota Twins fan and if she couldn't watch it live, would catch it the next day as a rerun. She was the first resident of St. James Manor in Perham and enjoyed 26 years of socializing and fellowship with her neighbors there.
Loretta was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dent.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, her daughter Bernadine Moberg, son Myren "Mike" Rohde and 4 siblings: Lela, Erbin, Lorraine and Ardon; son-in-law James King and infant granddaughter Debra Moberg.
Survivors include a sister JoAnn, New Mexico; daughter Beverly King, Blaine; son-in-law Don Moberg, Perham; daughter-in-law Dianne (Jim) Rohde-Szarke, Perham; 6 grandchildren, Terry Moberg, Todd Moberg, Michele (Rob) Thompson, James (Leah) King Jr., Robin (Steve) Keller, Myren "Mickey" (Susan) Rohde Jr., and 11 great-grandchildren; Trey, Isaiah, Jolanna, Hannah, Haley, Samuel, Theodore, Ethan, Jaxson, Aspen and Boden; and numerous relatives and friends.
