Bodie was born
February 1, 1932
, in
Wadena
,
MN
, the son of Elmer and Luella Busch. He went to school in
Ottertail
,
MN
, through the 8
th
grade. In 1950 he met Joy Ann Sjoile and they wed on
July 17, 1951
. After the wedding they moved to
Duluth
,
MN
, where he worked on the ships on the
Great Lakes
. Later that year their first son, Ronald, was born. In the following three years, Terry, Greg and Vicki were born to complete their family.
Bodie moved his family to the Twin Cities in 1953. He worked in the welding supply business and various part-time jobs including being a police officer in
Spring
Lake
Park
. From 1960-67 he worked for Airco and Buetner Welding Supplies and in 1967 Bodie decided to branch out with his own company, Capitol City Welding Supply Company. After being a successful business owner for 30 years he decided to sell the business and retire. Upon retirement, he moved back to Richville, MN, and built his dream home on Dead Lake.
Bodie had survived multiple cancers over the past 20+ years. He had strength, courage and the ability to overcome any obstacle that was thrown at him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and being surrounded by family and friends. He spent summers in
Minnesota
and wintered in
Phoenix
,
AZ.
Bodie will be dearly missed by his wife, Joy; three sons, Ronald (Linda) Busch, Plymouth, MN; and Terrence (Dawn) Busch, Lino Lakes, MN; and Gregory (Kathy) Busch, Mounds View, MN; daughter, Vicki Busch, Little Cananda, MN; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, a large extended family and many devoted friends.
