Lyle W. Hughes, age 90 of Perham, MN died Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Perham Living. Visitation will be Saturday, May 6 from 11:30 – 1:00 followed by the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at the Perham United Methodist Church. Private burial will be in Maple Lake Lutheran Cemetery near Fertile, MN.
Lyle was born December 22, 1926 in Brookston, MN the son of Chester and Leah (Cooper) Hughes. Lyle was a World War II Navy Veteran and spent 41 years working at Champion International Paper.
Lyle is survived by his daughters Diane Klumb and Karen Hamilton; his sons Douglas (Charity) and Richard Hughes; his grandchildren Matthew (Debbie) Klumb, Sarah Klumb, Edwin Klumb and Dana Hamilton; his brother-in-law Stafford (Joyce) Erickson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents Chester Sr. and Leah; his wife of 58 years Mildred (Erickson); infant son Jeffery; eight brothers and sisters LaVerne, Leah, June, Chester Jr., Darle, Arden, Olive and Jerry; son-in-law Elwin Klumb; daughter-in-law JoAnna Hughes; and his grandson Nicholas Hughes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Lyle are preferred to Perham Living or Perham United Methodist Church.
