Funeral services for Matthew J. Baumgart, age 23, of Ottertail, MN, will be at Calvary Lutheran Church, Perham, MN, Monday, March 29, 2004, beginning at 11:00 A.M., with Reverend Karin Moberg officiating. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, in Perham, is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March, 28, 2004, as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Matt died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Perham Memorial Hospital.
Matt was born the son of Terry Baumgart and Kim Nelson, on August 8, 1980, in Detroit Lakes, MN. He attended school in Perham, graduating in 1999. He was active in basketball and baseball. Matt was currently attending Minnesota State College in Moorhead, majoring in Business. Matt enjoyed life so very much, golfing, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and being with his family and friends.
Surviving Matt are his parents, Terry (Sharon) Baumgart, of Vergas, MN and Kim (Ken) Nelson, of Ottertail, MN; brother, Thomas, of Ottertail, MN; sister, Amanda, of Hudson, WI; grandparents, Betty Erickson, of Fergus Falls, MN, Wayne Cummings, of Mesa, AZ, and Grace and Lauren Baumgart, of Perham, MN; great-grandparents, Orville Flatin, of Pelican Rapids, MN and Murray Cummings, of Richfield, MN; step-brother, Charlie Nelson, of Richfield, MN and step-sisters, Tina (Chase) Rasmussen, of Glenwood City, WI and Haley Frost, of Vergas, MN.
