Melvin Greiff

Melvin was born on March 5, 1922, the son of Oscar and Cecelia (Fisher) Greiff. He was baptized, confirmed, and a lifelong member of St. Paula�(TM)s Lutheran Church in Perham. He married Dorothy Hoehne on November 9, 1943.

Melvin owned Matz and Greiff Garage with his father and later his son until his retirement a month ago. Melvin loved his work, family, sports, hunting and fishing, and traveling with his wife. His biggest smile was for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his three children, Judy Peterson, of Rincon, Puerto Rico; Alan (Gail) Greiff of Moorhead, MN; and David "Pete" (Betty) Greiff of Perham, MN; four grandchildren, Andrea Greiff of Lincoln, NE; Adrian Greiff of Moorhead, MN; Eric (Andrea) Greiff of Moorhead, MN; and Stacy (Trevor) Peterson of Alexandria, MN; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marian Johnson of Monticello, MN.

Preceding Melvin in death are his parents; his wife, Dorothy, in 2001; sister, Evelyn Rosen; and son-in-law, Darcy Peterson.
