Myrtle Brown

November 25, 1910 — September 1, 2004

Myrtle Edna Brown, age 93, of Vergas, MN, died at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home, Perham, MN, Wednesday, September 1, 2004. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 4, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Dent, MN, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Gary Klempke officiating. Burial will follow in the Silent Vale Cemetery, Maine, MN. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2004, as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church..



Myrtle was born at her grandparent's home on Dead Lake, rural Dent, MN, November 25, 1910, the second to the oldest child, of William (Will) and Grace (Nendick) Jenne. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School, Fergus Falls, MN, and received her RN degree from the University of Minnesota where she became a surgical nurse. Myrtle married Charlie Brown in Minneapolis, MN, in 1936 and gave birth to their son, Dick, in 1938.



Myrtle was very active in the Methodist Church and the parish visitor for many years. The couple's home was a constant center of family gatherings and celebrations. Charlie and Myrtle retired to their "paradise" on East Silent Lake, rural Dent, MN, where they lived for 32 years. In 2000, they moved into the Assisted Living in Vergas.



Surviving Myrtle is her son, Dick and his wife, Dixie; grandson, Trent and his wife, Nancy; granddaughter, Kelly and her husband, Ran Bush; two great-grandsons, Devin Brown and Garrett Bush and three sisters, Lorraine Stai, Alice Green and Donna Lou Kegley.



Preceding Myrtle in death is her husband, Charlie, in 2000; three sisters, Hazel Carlson, Gertrude Northrup and Evelyn Noble and one brother, Vernon Jenne.
