Roger A. Farber, age 73, of Ottertail, MN, died Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND, due to complications related to congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
Roger was born November 4, 1937, near Gutches Grove, MN, the son of Harold and Katherine (Eggerth) Farber. On July 9, 1960, he was united in marriage to LuVern Haberkorn in Long Prairie, MN. Roger attended the Chicago School of Welding in the Twin Cities and was employed with Dairycraft in Holdingford, MN. He was later employed with Little Falls Machine Shop in Little Falls, MN, where he also worked part time out of his own shop until opening his own welding shop full time in Little Falls. Through all of this Roger also worked part time as a farm hand. He liked to fish, spend time in his shop, attend auction sales, visit with people and spend time with his wife, LuVern, and grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his wife, LuVern, Ottertail, MN; two daughters, Carlene (Mark) Lang, Pillager, MN; and Sharon Farber (fiancé Tim Mertz), Vermillion, SD; grandchildren, Christopher and Amanda Lang and step-grandchild, Stormy Mertz.
Preceding Roger in death are his parents and two infant children.
