Stephen Sirel “Steve” Perszyk was born
March 21, 1924
, the son of Mike and Violet (Peleski) Perszyk in
Perham
,
MN
. He attended
St.
Joe
School
and graduated from
Perham
High School
in 1943. Steve worked the family farm after the death of his father in 1943. He served in the US Army from July 1945 to February 1946 when he was discharged and returned to his farm. On
May 6, 1946
he Steve was united in marriage to Helen Lange. They moved to
Chicago
for three years but returned to the farm. They retired from farming and moved into Perham in 2000. Throughout his life Steve was a car salesman, hospital board member, and supervisor on the
Perham
Township
board. He loved gardening, fishing and pickling his catch, visiting with family and friends and talking about the past. Steve was even able to vote this year by proxy vote. He expressed his point of view on a lot of issues, township or city, and was always willing to fight for what he thought was right.
Steve is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen,

; two sisters, Jeanette (Harry) Richter,
Buffalo
,
MN
; and Delores (Joe) Wasche,
Perham
,
MN
; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding Steve in death are his parents.
