Stewart Mensing

Stewart J. "Stew" Mensing, age 68, of Ottertail, MN, ended his earthly journey with all family members by his side on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND, due to heart arrhythmia.

Stewart was born September 5, 1942, in Faribault, MN, to Palmer and Rose (Schmidtke) Mensing. He graduated from Faribault Senior High School in 1960. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army. Stewart found the love of his life, Carol Kokoschke of Morristown, MN, and married her on June 10, 1967. After their marriage they settled in Faribault where they lived and had four children. Following an honorary discharge Stewart furthered his education with Land Oa�(TM) Lakes Creamery in Faribault where he was employed for twenty+ years and transferred with promotion to Land Oa�(TM) Lakes in Perham, MN, for eight years and retired in 2010 from Ottertail County Recycling Center in Fergus Falls, MN.

Stewarta�(TM)s passions were spending time with his family & friends, fishing the lakes of Minnesota, traveling, hunting around the world from the freezing cold Artic Circle to boiling Africa where he experienced the hunt of a lifetime with his wife, Carol. He truly lived out many of his dreams and life desires embracing every moment with his wife, children and grand children. There are also many relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

Stewart is survived by his wife, Carol Mensing; son, Chris (Shelly) Mensing, Perham MN; daughters, Shawna (David) Rose, Ottertail, MN; Tami (Jeffrey) Merry, Nashville, TN; and son, Matthew (Stephanie) Mensing, Faribault, MN; eight grandchildren, Jack Mensing, Andrew, Emma, Madison Rose, Alyssa, Braeden, and Callie Mensing and Morgan Merry.; three sisters, Phyllis (Barney) Hunt, Faribault, MN; Barbara (Paul) Hanson, Northfield, MN; and Sharon (Ignacio) Aaragon, Acapulco, Mexico; and a brother, Bruce (Marie) Mensing, Apple Valley, MN.

Preceding Stewart in death are his parents, Palmer and Rose Mensing; maternal parents, Walter and Emma Kokoschke, and one brother, Jerry.
