Wayne James Haremza, age 77, of Perham, MN, died Sunday, October 16, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, 11:00 am, at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, MN. Interment to be at St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2005 from 4-8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm and a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN.
Wayne was born on June 5, 1928 in Flandreau, SD to Anthony and Lucille (Cryan) Haremza. They moved to Perham, MN in 1932 where Wayne attended school and graduated from Perham High School in 1946. He was enlisted in the US Navy from 1946 ? 1948 during WWII. Wayne attended St. Cloud State University and Moorhead State University studying architectural engineering. He returned to Perham and on July 10, 1952 he married Dorothy Weis at St. Henry's Church, Perham. Wayne worked for Schoeneberger Furniture, owned and operated Babe's Resort on Little Pine Lake and in the early 60?s owned the Merchants Bar. He also owned a sand and gravel business in Perham and worked for Melvin Rust trucking freight. Wayne worked for the Perham School District for 28 years and during that time owned and operated The Hive in Perham. Wayne retired in 1991. He was a member of the American Legion. His hobbies included hunting, spending time at the Deer Shack by Emmaville, MN, fishing in Canada, playing cards, casino trips, playing 99 and Tripoly, emailing friends and family, spending the holidays with his family and spending time with his family at the cabin on Paul Lake. Wayne was always there to help out and was a kind hearted man.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Perham, MN; children, Jeannie (Steve) Lachowitzer, Cohasset, MN; Connie (Terry) Olson, Perham, MN; Mary Kay Ebeling, Perham, MN; Michael (Mona) Haremza, Omaha, NE; John (Jana) Haremza, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Jon (Melissa) Lachowitzer, Flagstaff, AZ; Chad (Melissa) Lachowitzer, Elk River, MN; Jason Lachowitzer, Honolulu, HI; Nikki (Ryan) Tabaka, Brainerd, MN; Misty Olson, Superior, WI; Erika Olson, Perham, MN; Shawn Ebeling, Perham, MN; Angie Ebeling, Perham, MN; Boe Haremza, Omaha, NE; Chelsea Haremza, Omaha, NE; Stephanie Haremza, Fargo, ND; Nicole Haremza, Fargo, ND; and great grandchildren Logan and Mallory.
Preceding Wayne in death are his mother, Lucille and his aunt, Ida.
