While living as a teen in Currie MN, she met William Neyens. He joined the service and wrote to her when he was serving in the Air Force throughout the late 50's. Shortly after he returned home, they married on June 24, 1961. The same year she got a job at Campbell Soup to buy Bill a gun cabinet and she continued working there for 25 years.
