Adeline L. Brouillard

May 13, 1925 — December 6, 2022

Perham, MN

Adeline Lena Ruther Brouillard, age 97 of Perham, MN, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Perham Living.

Adeline was born May 13, 1925 in Corliss Township, MN to William Ruther and Freidericka Tober.  She lived in Perham, MN until she married John Floyd Brouillard on November 6, 1948.  They moved to Oshkosh, WI where they had five children:  Gary John (Judy) Brouillard, Diane Kay (William) Smith, Karen Sue (Curt) Schwanebeck, Jim Bruce Brouillard and Kim Terri (Jon) Crissinger.

Adeline was an amazing mother who loved her children dearly.  Her pride and joy were her Grandchildren:  Jeremy James (Misha) Schwanebeck, Jennifer Jo (Jason) Klootwyk, Christopher John (Cherry) Brouillard, Joshua Cordell Harris, Joseph Jon (Allison) Schwanebeck, Jaret Thomas Crissinger, Ryan Paul Crissinger, and her Great-Grandchildren: Kerigan and Clay Schwanebeck, Jacob, Jared, Justin, and Jaden Klootwyk, Eden Crissinger, Izaiah and Aedyn Brouillard.

Adeline was always there whenever she was needed by family and friends.  She had a heart of gold and was always thinking of others.  She was an excellent baker and canner and always made sure to make extra to share with family and friends, especially her famous dill pickles, pickled fish, pies and cookies.

She enjoyed her years of volunteering as a Sunday School teacher, Poppy Chairman for the VFW, Meals on Wheels, and various church functions.  She relied on her faith in Jesus Christ to help her through life’s ups and downs.  Adeline had many friends and neighbors who called her “Mom” and “Grandma Adeline”.  She was a wonderful listener who always had a hug, a smile, a treat or kind words to lift you up when you were struggling.  She shared many of her life stories with others and loved hearing yours.  She loved playing cards and games and enjoying holidays with family and friends.  We will always remember the lessons she taught us and will keep her memories in our hearts.

Adeline is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Ruther and Freidericka Tober; husband, John Brouillard; sons, Gary and Jim Brouillard; siblings, Dorothy, Violet, Melvin, Lorraine, and Darlene Ruther; and grandson, Joseph Schwanebeck.
