Albert N. Bretz, age 94, of
Albert was born at home on
After High School he worked on the farm and did odd jobs, such as cutting wood or picking potatoes. He played softball on Sundays, fished and hunted. In 1936 Albert started working at Merickel Lumber Company in Wadena where he worked until he was drafted into the Armed Services during World War II in March 1941.

Over the years, Albert and Hazel took many trips together. He enjoyed watching football, baseball, working in the store, traveling and reading. Albert was a member of
In November 2007, Albert was selected to attend the WDAY “Honor Flight” where he traveled to
Albert will be deeply missed by his family and friends and the Perham community.
Albert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hazel, Perham; two daughters, Colleen (Al) Gramentz, Bonita Springs, FL; and Bette (Mike) Pitzel, Vergas, MN; one son, James (Sherry) Bretz, Perham, MN; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren along with three brothers and one sister.
Preceding Albert in death are his parents, one brother and two sisters.
