Ann (Tabor) Richter, age 76, of Little McDonald Lake, Perham, MN, went home to be with her Lord, on Friday, August 26, 2011, after courageously battling cancer for five years.
Ann was born near Detroit Lakes, MN, on September 5, 1934, the daughter of Charles and Anna Tabor. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High school and attended nursing school. On February 22, 1953, Ann was united in marriage to Jim Richter. The couple moved to Bremerton, WA, and then returned to the Fargo-Moorhead area where they raised their children. In 1982, Jim and Ann began a new adventure together when Jim's work took them to Maine, Virginia, Connecticut, New York and Texas. They built their retirement home on Little McDonald Lake where Ann continued to reside following Jim's death.
A devoted wife, mom and nana, Ann loved cooking, baking, gardening and travelling but, mostly, she loved being at the lake. Their lake homes on Turtle and Little McDonald were gathering places for the entire family throughout the years. Ann is at the center of the many wonderful memories made there and we will miss her with all of our hearts.
Surviving Ann are her children, Chuck (Alice) Richter, Scott (Barb) Richter, and Krista (Scott) Doebbler; grandchildren, Jim (Amy) and Susan Richter, Emily and Michael Richter and Charlie and Anna Doebbler; brothers, Charles Tabor, Allen (Peggy) Tabor, and John (Pearlann) Tabor; sister, Mary (Bob) Lee and 16 nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ann in death is her husband, Jim; her parents, Charles and Anna; sister, Rose Gytri; brother-in-law, Lloyd Gytri and sister-in-law, Millie Tabor.
Ann's family thanks N.C. Little Hospice, Edina, MN, for their gentle care and kindness.
