Arlene D. Rusche

Arlene Rusche, age 88 of Perham, MN passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 in Essentia Health – Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN where she had resided for the last two years. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 on Thursday, June 8 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Arlene Doris Ziegler was born in Perham on September 13, 1934, the daughter of William and Amanda (Schultz) Ziegler. Arlene attended school at St. Paul’s Lutheran School and in Brenham, TX, graduating from Perham High School in 1952. After high school, Arlene worked in the Twin Cities at International Harvester and Western Union. On January 12, 1957, Arlene was united in marriage to Allen Rusche at St. Paul’s Church.

Arlene was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham where she was also baptized and confirmed. She participated in the Concordia Guild, was a longtime member of HOPE Homemaker’s Club, and for years, was the clerk for Perham Township.

Surviving Arlene are her husband Allen; her son Mark; daughter Rhonda; her sister Luella (Norman) Breitenfeldt; her sister-in-law Helen Ziegler; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Preceding Arlene in death were her parents; her son Ronald; and her brothers Alfred (Nadine) Ziegler and Raymond Ziegler.
