Arthur Maleitzke

Arthur “Art” Maleitzke, age 86, of Perham , MN , died Sunday, April 18, 2010 , at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.


Art was born December 30, 1923 , in St. Paul , MN , the son of Arthur and Agnes (Rothbauer) Maleitzke. After high school Art enlisted in the US Army and served at Normandy during WWII. He was employed with the St. Paul Fire Department and retired as Captain. Art was an avid hunter and fisherman and had enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada . He made friends easily as he loved to talk to everyone. Art built his dream home on Little Pine Lake and retired there in 1988. He loved playing cards with friends and was a member of Lakeside Golf Course, the VFW and the American Legion.



Art is survived by his loving wife, Lou; his five children, Bobbi Jo (Jake) Jacobson; Tom (Kathy) Maleitzke; Jerry (Debbie) Maleitzke; Steve (Julie) Maleitzke; and Jim (Mary Kaye) Maleitzke; twelve grandchildren, Heather, Kit (Lynn), Kara Jo (Jamie), Jennie (Jeremy), Mollie (Chris), Cheri (Cam), Josh, Adam, Ashley, Anna, Gina and Kayla; seven great grandchildren; five step-children, Joel (Nancy), Georgia (Tom), Diana (Brian), Jill (Ralph) and Greg; twelve step-grandchildren, Jaclyn (Todd), Nick (Megan), Amy (Lucas), Andrea (Tamarac), Eddie (Brooke), Emily (Rick), Jay, Molly, Alison, Samantha, Kim (Kent) and Amy (Kevin); and twelve step great grandchildren.



Preceding Art in death are his parents; first wife, Betty Mae (Schaffhausen) Maleitzke; infant daughter; sister, Lorraine Ridge and brother-in-law, Jim Ridge .
