Barbara (Barb) J. LaPoint, age 69, of Erhard, MN died Wednesday, March 28th, 2012, at the Pioneer Home, of Fergus Falls, MN, after a long battle with cancer.
Barb went to school for physical education, worked as a substitute teacher, managed at Sturdevant's Auto Parts, proprietor for Perham Pizza, and was the Deli Manager at Dean's, all while raising her family. She was Accountant, Secretary, Vice President, Madam President and a lifetime member of the Eagles Auxiliary #4224.
She was born the daughter of Donald and Ruth (Schneider) Schmitt on January 17th, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI. She married Douglas M. LaPoint in Wauwatosa, WI.
Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas LaPoint. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Meyer; best friend, Jackie McGrand; her children, Mary (Donnegan) Knutson, Viola (Wally) Manderud, Darrin M. (Sayuri) LaPoint, Kevin P. (Monica) LaPoint, and Kurtis D. (Colleen) LaPoint; 12 grandchildren, Brian, Big Tony, Tony, Kayla, Nicole, Nathan, Quinn, Brittney, Danielle, Ian, Rochelle, Mark; 4 step-grandchildren, Jessica, Alicia, Nathan, Daniel; 9 great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jared, Mia, Chloe, Christian, Hallie, Jacob, Jordyn, Micah; and many foster children, nephews, and nieces.
She will be greatly missed.
