Bonnie Smith

Bonnie Mary Smith, age 70, of New York Mills, MN, died Thursday, July 2, 2009 , at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home after a short battle with cancer.


Bonnie was born January 23, 1939 , in Mankato , MN , and lived much of her life in Henderson , MN .  In 1999 she moved to New York Mills to spend more time with her daughter and grandchildren.

Bonnie was employed by T.I.P. of Minnesota at The Cactus in Perham. She had previously worked at the V.F.W. in New York Mills. Until the mid eighties, Bonnie and Robert owned and operated BoBons Red Feather in Henderson , MN . Bonnie enjoyed tending to her flowers, playing bingo, spending time with family, and watching her great-grandchildren grow.



Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Wanda Smith (Larry Masloski), New York Mills, MN;  five grandchildren, Kristy (Scott) Haslerud, Mapleton, ND; Brandy Masloski, Duluth, MN; Bobbi (Joe) Wegscheid, Frazee, MN; Jessica Masloski (Cory Koljonen), New York Mills, MN; and Anthony Masloski, Perham, MN; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe, Alexis, Nyssa, Joshuwa, Deserae, Taya, and Collin and a brother, Jim (Sue) Ewert, Minnetonka, MN.



Preceding Bonnie in death are her mother, Viola Johnson; husband, Robert A. Smith; son, Eddie Smith; brother, Clint Nielson; and also close friend, Jesse Morris.
