Brian D. Halverson

Brian Dean Halverson, age 51 of New York Mills, MN, passed away on October 17, 2022 at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born on November 11, 1970 in Perham, MN.

He attended school in the Perham area as well as some technical college. Brian spent a few years working for the United States Postal Service. In 1998, Brian was married to Jennifer Bertek in Wadena, MN. Together they had two children, Stephen and Dena.

Brian was a rock hound of sorts, and loved panning for gold and precious gemstones. It was was not uncommon to find him stargazing, learning about astronomy; or with a fishing pole or book in hand. He will be remembered for being a jokester but most importantly the love he had for his family, especially his grandkids.

Brian is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jennifer Halverson; children Dena and Stephen Halverson; grandchildren, Sterling Joseph Halverson and Oliver Larry Israelson; father, Lloyd Halverson; mother, Lynn; siblings, Jennifer Sanders, Eric Halverson, Curtis Schmoll, and Damian Schmoll. He is preceded in death by his younger brother, Jason Halverson and his four-legged companion, Buddy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
