Bruce Spanswick, age 53 of Ottertail, Minnesota passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family and loving companion, Elaine Holmstrom on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church near Ottertail, Minnesota with Pastor Karl Weber officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. A private burial will be held at Girard Union Cemetery near Henning, Minnesota at a later date.

Bruce Edward Spanswick was born on May 3, 1959 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to James and Betty (Arneson) Spanswick. Bruce graduated from Henning High School in 1978. He was united in marriage to Kristi Faust on July 24, 1987 and together they had two children, Jerica and Dillon. Shortly after high school Bruce worked at Lund Boats and then at Midstate Pipeline. Loving the outdoors, Bruce started working for Carr's Tree Service in Ottertail. He worked there for over 30 years. He was a member of the Ottertail Rod & Gun Club, the Ottertail Fire Department, and the Ottertail Township Board.

Surviving Bruce are his parents; his daughter, Jerica and fiancé Kyle Conlin; his son, Dillon (Ali); sister, Debra (Maynard) Larson; brothers, Jeffrey (Krista), Joey (Sandra), and Kenneth (Karen); aunts and uncles, Alice Pederson, and Muriel (Larry) Tonsager; loving companion, Elaine Holmstrom; along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Bruce in death are his grandparents, Ruth and Fred Arneson and Sarah and William Spanswick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Ottertail Rod & Gun Club or the Ottertail Volunteer Firefighters' Relief Association.
