Carl Gordon "Gordy" Rust, Jr., 70, of Perham, MN, passed away at his home.
Carl was born May 3, 1941, to Carl, Sr. and Ada (Castle) Rust. He grew up around Richville, MN, and attended country school and Perham High School. He served three years in the U.S. Army. Carl was married to Kathy Kempa. They had three children, Richard, Mary and Michael; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Bobbie, Tylin and Mason Rust and Stacey, Stephanie and Saundra Halvorson as well as two great-grandchildren.
On December 17, 1977, Carl married Delores Wasche. They resided in the Perham area. Before his retirement, Carl worked at several different jobs including factory work; owning and operating his own garbage truck, "Gordy's Rubbish"; combining; school janitor and milk truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, keeping up the yard and flower gardens, and especially enjoyed visiting and having coffee with his coffee buddies.
Surviving Carl is his wife, Dee; two step-children, Tony Wasche and Deb (Wayne) Romann; 7 step-grandchildren, including the apple of his eye, Thea Romann; 8 step-great-grandchildren; his children and grandchildren; one sister, Barb Rust; 4 brothers, Ken (Phyllis) Rust, Warren (Linda) Rust, Jerome Rust and Richard (Casey) Rust; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Adeline Dykhoff, Nick and Dot Hofland, and Reinie and Vi Bormann; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Preceding Carl in death are his parents, Carl and Ada Rust; his mother and father-in-law, Rose and Martin Dykhoff; sister-in-law, Patty Rust and a niece and nephew, Jenny and Robbie Rust.
Carl will live in our hearts and be sadly missed.
