Carol was born on December 21, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Marshall and O'Ceil (Tenold) Purdie. She graduated from Wells High School in 1957 and began nurses training shortly thereafter. Carol married the love of her life, Larry Flynn, on June 8, 1958; they resided in Wells until she and Larry moved their family to Perham, Minnesota in 1979. Over the years Carol volunteered in many capacities including the Wells Fire Department Auxiliary and various church and civic groups. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling with Larry on his business trips, being an Arizona snowbird, and visiting her family. But most important in her life, her true pride and joy, was her family; she never let distance keep her from cuddling and rocking each new grandbaby or celebrating family milestones.
Carol is survived by her husband, Larry Flynn of Perham, MN; their children, John (Stephanie) Flynn, Williamsburg, VA, Marsha (Byron) Kidder, Fergus Falls, MN, Mark (LeAndra) Flynn, Laurel Hills, FL and Julie (Wayne) Silbernagel, Perham, MN; 19 grandchildren, Jeremy (Gail) Flynn, Christine (Mike) Rodarte, Lauren Flynn, Kristin (Glen) Cox, Kyle Kidder, Spencer Kidder, Daniel Vawter, Chelsey (Phil) Lindley, Jacob Flynn, Olivia Flynn, Joshua Flynn, Noah Flynn, Benjamin Flynn, David Flynn, Emma Flynn, Heather Silbernagel, Nathan (Marisa) Silbernagel, and Ashley Silbernagel; five great grandchildren, Ashton Flynn, Lydia Rodarte-Farrell, Kylie Rodarte, Sutton Silbernagel and Calvin Lindley; her siblings, James (Judith) Purdie, Neil Purdie and Glen (Linda) Purdie; along with many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and O'Ceil Purdie; and her grandson, Nicholas Silbernagel.
