Carol Martha Hexum, age 76, of Perham, MN, passed away in the comfort of family on Saturday, January 14th, 2012 at Sanford Health of Fargo, ND.
She was born Carol Martha Harthun on August 1st, 1935 near Dent, MN, to Andrew and Edna (Ellingson) Harthun. She married Errol Hexum on November 12th, 1955, at Immanual Lutheran Church in Dent, MN. The couple lived in the area until his death in 1991.
Carol was a loving mother who loved visiting with family and friends and spending time with grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, canning, doing ceramics and puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune and playing Yahtzee. She had extensive porcelain doll and Depression glass collections which she proudly displayed.
Carol is survived by two sons, Marvin (Ann) Hexum of Dent, and Merle (Carol) Hexum, of Perham; three daughters, Maxine (Laird) Stoll of Dent, Marlene (Tim) Honer of Dent, and Monica (Dennis) Arens of Detroit Lakes, MN. She is also survived by five brothers, Raymond (Patty) Harthun of Dent, Larry (Jane) Harthun of Rothsay, MN, Glen Harthun of Dent, Leroy Harthun of WA, and Marlin Harthun of Dent; two sisters, Elaine (Roger) Kawlewski of Dent, and Linda (Ken) Aune of TX; fifteen grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marilyn Honer; son-in-law, Rick Honer, and grandson, Dajun Honer.
