Daniel Zacharias

Daniel Edgar Zacharias, 73, of Richville, MN passed away on Saturday, November 15th at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Daniel was born in Perham, MN, on June 7, 1952 to Donald and Irene (McGowan) Zacharias.

He attended Perham schools and graduated in 1970. Following high school, Dan worked in the construction industry until he retired in 2014.

On July 16, 1977, he married Debra Boedigheimer in Perham, MN. Together they lived in rural Richville for 48 years and raised their family that became the center of his world.

Daniel enjoyed cutting wood, mowing lawn, and burning leaves. He especially enjoyed camping, fishing in Jeff Lake and Canada, and deer hunting with the Tamarac Crew.

Becoming a grandfather brought Daniel even more joy. His grandchildren will remember him as a supportive, caring man and will treasure the numerous stories and one-liners he was known for. He loved supporting them at all of their school sports and activities.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted by the knowledge that his spirit lives on in the family he cherished. Daniel is survived by his wife, Debra; children, Rhonda (Wade) Bakke of Hawley, MN, Joshua (Cassie) Zacharias of Perham, MN, and Jason (Janet) Zacharias of Carrollton, VA; grandchildren, Rilee (Levi), Landon, Tate, Jada, Mia, Carson, Olivia, Charlee, and Mila; brothers David (Loretta) and Dennis (Mary.)

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Irene Zacharias, and God child Ohiyesa.

Visitation will be 4:30-7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 on Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Perham. Visitation will resume from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 on Saturday, November 22 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Perham. Private Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Richville, MN.
