Denice Arlene Zepper passed away under the care of Frazee Care Center and HIA Hospice staff on September 30, 2026, after her battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Denice was born on April 21, 1935, at home in Evergreen Township. Her parents were Fred and Pauline (Huwe) Rader. She attended country school in Evergreen and Spruce Grove Townships. In August 1954, Denice married Norman Steinhaus, and they were blessed with one son, Terry. They later divorced.
In May 1966, Denice was united in marriage with the late John Zepper. They were married for almost 46 years until she was widowed in 2012. They were blessed with two children, son Bryan and daughter Lori. Her greatest accomplishments, and the ones that brought her great joy, were her three children: Terry, Bryan, and Lori.
Denice worked for 20 years at the Perham Memorial Hospital and Homes until retiring around 1997. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Denice enjoyed baking, dancing, crocheting, and playing cards, with canasta and solitaire being her favorites. She played UNO and tiddlywinks with her grandchildren numerous times. One of the things she enjoyed enormously, and missed greatly, was the family get-togethers and reunions with all of her extended family.
Denice is survived by her son Terry (Karen) Steinhaus; son Bryan (Karen) Zepper; and daughter Lori (Brian) Lindon; her two grandsons, Nicholas Steinhaus (Jody Lovgren) and Christopher Steinhaus (Shannon Williamson); her four granddaughters, Breanna (Eric) Dreyer, Abbey Zepper, Katie Zepper, and Mikaela Lindon; two great-grandchildren, Amber and Jason Steinhaus; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding Denice in death were her parents, Fred and Pauline Rader; her husband, John Zepper; and her siblings, Dennis Rader (twin brother), Bonnie Steeke, Clarence Quast, Louis Quast, Lloyd Rader, George Rader, Dorothy Bauck, and Marie Bauck.
Blessed be the memory of Denice!
