Dennis Herman Guck, age 78, of Perham, MN, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Perham Living.
Dennis was born on October 9, 1933, in Perham, the son of Steve and Lucille (Huebsch) Guck. He graduated from St. Henry's Catholic School and then attended Perham Public High School, graduating in 1951. Dennis entered the US Army, in November 1953, completing his enlistment in November 1955. On September 22, 1958, Dennis was united in marriage with Joan Parchem. He worked as a dairy farmer as well as served seven years on the Perham Township Board and, for thirteen years, on the Perham Co-Op Creamery Board. Dennis was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church. His favorite pastimes were fishing and Card Club Group. In 1987, Dennis was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He was active in the local MS support group serving for many years as the captain of the MS Walk. In 2000, Dennis was recognized with the "Minnesota MS Father of the Year Award" in Minneapolis, MN.
Surviving Dennis is his wife, Joan, Perham, MN; children, Gary ( Carolyn), Rogers, MN, Tim, West Lakeland, MN, Jody (Pat) Conlin, Perham, MN and Christopher (Kim), Pelican Rapids, MN; son-in-law, Pat Koep, Clitherall, MN; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding Dennis in death are his parents, Steve and Lucille, and one daughter, Julie Koep.
Memorials are preferred to St. Henry's Church Building Fund.
