Donald Boedigheimer

Donald “Don” Boedigheimer, age 83, of Perham, MN, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.


Don was born September 25, 1926 , in New York Mills, MN, the son of Arnold and Theresa (Nau) Boedigheimer. He grew up on a farm in New York Mills helping his dad and brothers. Don was united in marriage to Maxine Williamschen in 1953 but later divorced in 1978. In 1979 he married Emma Mae Rice. Don purchased his own farm in 1959 where he lived until moving to Fergus Falls , MN , in 1999. He farmed most of his life and did milk testing for DHIA as well as worked at Homecrest in Wadena , MN . Don loved hunting and fishing; especially bird hunting with his dogs. He was a devoted family man and dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.



Don is survived by daughters, Kristy (Quentin) Wright, Blair, NE; and Susan (Glen) Collins, Fargo, ND; son, Kevin (Patty) Boedigheimer, Ledyard, CT; and children by marriage, Dianne (Milo) Johnson, New York Mills, MN; Joni (John C.) Poland, Sebeka, MN; Dawn Reeves, Corvallis, OR; Jim (Carmen) Schmidt, Champlin, MN; and Mark Schmidt, Minneapolis, MN; eleven grandchildren, Mina, Justin, Latoya, Kelsey, Sarah, Jason, Shelby, Dylan, Peyton, Amanda, and Brandon; and two great grandchildren, Seth and Nevaeh.



Preceding Don in death are his parents; wife, Emma Mae; brothers, Clarence, Arnie and Gerald; son-in-law, Mel; and step daughter-in-law, Kelly.
