Donna Mae Schiller age 77 of Richville, MN passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 in her home under the care of her children and Hospice of the Red River Valley. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 3 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Basswood Baptist Church, rural Richville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Bert Holmquist will officiate. Burial will be held in the Richville Village Cemetery.
Donna was born in Richville on February 1, 1939 the daughter of Gerald and Verda (Elofson) Miner. She was united in marriage to Arthur Floyd Schiller on October 27, 1955 in Minneapolis, MN. Together they had five children: Terry, Warren, Kimberly, Thomas and Mackenzie. Donna and Art were foster parents for many years giving a home and love to many children.
Donna had many hobbies including collecting antiques, arranging flowers and gardening. She loved playing cards, buying and selling, collecting cookbooks, cooking and trying new recipes. Donna will be remembered for her compassion to the less fortunate. She understood the needs of others and loved to give a helping hand to those in need. Donna loved watching birds, especially cardinals.
Surviving Donna are her children Terry, Warren, Kimberly (Mike), Thomas and Mackenzie (Jeff); her eight grandchildren Nick, Chrystal, Jayme, Shawn, Stacie, YaNina, Anthony and Sophia; her nine great-grandchildren Kaden, Emilee, Shawn II, David, Alex, Jonathan, Damien, Erin and Brayden; her sister Phyllis Turbes; along with many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Preceding Donna in death were her parents Gerald and Verda; her husband Art; her sisters Doris Miner and Marilyn Shaske; and her brother, Kenneth Miner.
