Doris J. Ehlert, 76, of Ottertail, MN died peacefully at home with family by her side Sunday March 8, 2026.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:00 on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN.
She was born to Robert “Fritz” and Mildred (Hansen) Monk on September 30, 1949 in Fergus Falls, MN.
Doris was united in marriage to Ronald W. Ehlert on November 18, 1967 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND. The couple made their home on “the farm” near Foxhome, MN. In 2000, they moved to Otter Tail Lake.
She was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church. Doris loved her family dearly as well as her dog Charlie. Doris was an avid quilter, made the first hole-in-one at Balmoral North Golf Course, and enjoyed spending time with Ron, Lisa, and her grandchildren on Otter Tail Lake.
She is survived by her husband Ron Ehlert and daughter Lisa Barnes both of Ottertail; and two grandsons Spencer (Catherine) Barnes of Highland, IL and Chandler (Hanna) Barnes of Casselton, ND. Also surviving Doris are her many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her daughter Lori Ann; son Nathan Norbert; grandson Noah Jordheim; parents Robert and Mildred Monk; brothers Robert Monk, Herbert (Donna) Monk, and Donald (Shelby) Monk; and her nephews Riley Pape, Ryan Pape, Scott Quamme, and Tyler Wohlers.

Ron, Lisa and Family would like to convey a Sincere Thank You to all who have shown your love, support, prayers and any contributions you have made in Doris’s memory. Thank You notes will not be sent.
