Dorothy Ford

Dorothy Ford, age 73, of Perham , MN , passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 , surrounded by her family after a lingering illness at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital , St. Louis Park , MN .


Dorothy was born July 7, 1937 , in Grygla , MN , to Orrin and Marjorie Benson. She attended school in Grygla and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston , MN . She married George Ford in December 1958. They lived in Minneapolis and Hamel before retiring and moving to West Leaf Lake in Ottertail, then moving to Perham , MN , where they spent their retirement years. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking, watching the Minnesota Twins, playing with her grandchildren, going to garage sales, riding her bike and doing puzzles.


Dorothy is survived by two children, Greg (Edie) Ford, St Louis Park, MN; and Randy (Shaney) Ford, Davenport, IA; six grandchildren, Brian, Andrew, Sophie, Ben, Addisen and Carson; a sister, Barbara (Fletch) Harden, Northfield, MN; and two stepdaughters, Rosalie (Lonnie) Cutshaw, MO; and Diana (Danny) Dickerson, FL; two sisters-in-law, Esther Ford and Opal Beardsley; and many nieces and nephews.




Preceding Dorothy in death are her husband, George; parents, Orrin & Marjorie Benson; brother, Douglas Benson; and sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Denton Dreyer.
