Dorothy Nordbeck, age 83 of Perham, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, Perham with Pastor Phil Holtan officiating. Visitation will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 PM with prayers and a time of sharing at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.

Dorothy was born on December 4, 1929 in Maddock, ND to Crist and Mabel (Erickson) Nielsen. She married James "Art" Nordbeck on November 3, 1947.

Dorothy was the ultimate caregiver and epitome of the definition of mother. She was a strong woman with an unwavering faith, who believed that God lived in her house. Dorothy's greatest accomplishment was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy.

Surviving Dorothy is James A. "Art" Nordbeck; her children, Greg (Sue) Nordbeck, Roxanne (Jeff) Hunter, Kris Ann (Kevin) Tjaden; daughter-in-law, Mary (Mrs. Jim) Nordbeck; and the extra boy, Daniel (Shirley) Owens; 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was Aunt Dorothy to many special cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Clovis (Marvin) Douglas; brothers, Marshall Nielsen, Bobby Nielsen, and Dicky Nielsen; and sons, Jim and Cameron Nordbeck.
