Dorothy Zick

Dorothy Zick, age 70, of Perham , MN , died Thursday, April 23, 2009 , in the Elder’s Home, New York Mills, MN.


Born on February 22, 1939 , in Shell Lake Township , Dorothy Zick was the daughter of Fredrick and Gertrud (Litzau) Sperling. On November 24, 1957 , she married Duane Zick at a small church in Ponsford , MN . They had a small farm by Wolf Lake where they were foster parents and raised six children. She worked at the Frazee Retirement Center and St. Mary’s Nursing Home until 1979. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, trips to the casino, and spending time with children and grandchildren. She was a well liked and loved person who liked to make people laugh.



Dorothy is survived by her husband, Duane; children, Christine (Tony) Ally, Larry (Bernadette) Zick, Scott (Janet) Zick, June (John) Sword, Robert Zick, and Louann Rust; twenty three grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.



Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents; sisters, Helen, Dell, Rose, and Donna; and one brother, Leo.
