Eleanor A. (Wallace) Tober, age 97, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Perham, MN, died at Sanford Health of Fargo, ND, on September 14, 2011.
Eleanor was born in Colgate, ND, on April 26, 1914, the daughter of Earl James and Elsie Ida (Bierwagen) Sharp. She was united in marriage to James Herman Wallace, on November 10, 1937, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corliss Township, rural Perham, MN. Eleanor and Jimmy were the parents of five children; Eileen, LuEva, Harley, Darla and Laurel. Together, they operated a dairy farm in Corliss Township until 1971 when they retired and built a home on Big Pine Lake, rural Perham. Jimmy passed away on April 20, 1978.
In 1980, Eleanor married Walter Tober and they continued to reside on Big Pine Lake. Walter passed away in October of 1993. Eleanor moved to Perham and, in 2006, she moved to Arbor Park Village, Moorhead, to be closer to several of her children.
Eleanor was a long-time, active member of St. John's where she taught Sunday School for more than twenty years and participated in the Mary and Martha Society. She was also a member of the Thrifty Lanes Homemakers Club for many years. Eleanor enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing cards and baking delicious pies.
Surviving Eleanor are four children, LuEva (Herb) McAtee, Plymouth, MN, Harley (Trish) Wallace, Fargo, ND, Darla (Larry) Ward, Moorhead, MN and Laurie (Kevin) Wanke, Harwood, ND; one sister, Loretta (Orval) Irons, Bend, OR; nine grandchildren, Terri (Shane) Eastman, Hillsboro, OR, Craig Nundahl, Moorhead, MN, Travis (Jill) Ward, Moorhead, MN, Ryan (Sara) McAtee, Bloomington, MN, Christian McAtee, Columbia Heights, MN, Brian Wallace, Austin, TX, Tricia (Jay) Denny, Moorhead, MN, Justin (Kari) Wallace, Brookings, SD and Kelli (Forrest) Witt, Alexandria and four great-grandchildren, Gracie, Mason, Madalyn and Colt.
Preceding Eleanor in death are her parents; husbands, James and Walter; daughter, Eileen; sister, Lorine, and brothers, Marvin and Lyle.
