Elsie Lubitz

November 1, 1925 — June 13, 2014

It is with sadness and vibrant and lasting memories, the family of Elsie Grimm Lubitz announces that our Mother, Aunt and Friend has passed on to a greater life in heaven. With joy and appreciation her family remembers her love, her selflessness and her strength and determination that she has exuded throughout her life.

Elsie was a proud woman who silently overcame many obstacles. She was fiercely independent, yet was extremely connected to those whom she loved.

Elsie was born to Ludwig and Helena (Schmidt) Schroeder on November 1, 1925 and passed into eternal life on June 13, 2014. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Judie (sons Jim and Jon (Erin), Mary, (daughter Kristina and son Kevin (Xanhle) and their father and longtime friend, Don Kupfer; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; her nephews, the "Schroeder Boys" Doug (Diane), Dave (Krisdena) and Dan (Sue) along with their families. Elsie will also be missed by many of her loyal and longtime friends.

Elsie was preceded in death by her loving parents; her baby brother who died at birth; her brother Eldon and his wife Janet; her husbands, Paul A. Grimm and Henry Lubitz; and a step-son, "Buddy" Lubitz.

Special thanks to all the staff at Perham Living who gave Mother such wonderful care in the past few years. She loved her "home" there when the time had come for her to make a choice for a change in her lifestyle.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 beginning at 2:00 PM at the Perham Living Chapel with Pastor Carl Noble officiating. Visitation will be held at the Perham Living Chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Perham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Elsie's memory to Perham Living.

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal".
